This week’s I am the Diva Challenge is “Amanda Day/Earth Day (Round 4!)” With so many inspiring previous iterations of this challenge, I thought I’d try to take a “Seasons by Moonlight” approach, using a black Zendala tile, white gel pen and a couple of green/silver accents. Conceptually, representing the four seasons and highlighting the evening hours of Earth Day (and honoring the “turn out your lights for one hour” movement) was a good idea. It got away from me, though, and this hot mess resulted:
But ALAS! I am a CZT now! I don’t see mistakes, I see opportunities! To…start over. With a lighter tile and a lighter hand, I approached this as an homage to sun and rain and the gifts they bring. Tangles included Diva Dance (Rock n’ Roll), Msst, Grass Border, Henna Drum and my own wreath of leaves. I am much happier with this outcome. I toyed with adding color but decided I’d already been too heavy-handed on the last one…and my best bet? KISS.
Can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with on this one!I encourage and appreciate sharing!:
